Instructional Staff Bruce Herrmann, Jr., Director of Bands: Mr. Herrmann came to Chamberlain after being the Director of Bands at East Bay HS in Apollo Beach. Mr. Herrmann was on staff for the Band of the Mighty Chiefs in 2001-2002 and is excited to be the 'Big Chief' now at CHS. Mr. Herrmann received his degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa, and was the very first drum major for the USF "HOT" Herd of Thunder Marching Band. Brian Hoover, Visual Instructor: Brian has been working with the Chamberlain Band since 2001. Brian was a member of the Chamberlain HS Band, and served as drum major for three of his four years. He is currently a teacher at Chamberlain High School, where he is a member of the Social Studies Department and leader of Chamberlain's Business and Mass Communications Tribe. Derek Budzinski, Visual Instructor: Derek is currently a visual instructor for both Chamberlain and East Bay High Schools in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. A graduate of East Bay HS, Derek marched in the Teal Sound Drum and Bugle Corps in 2006 and the Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps in 2007. Derek is currently a Music Education major at the University of South Florida in Tampa and is a mellophone player for the 2009 Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps from Rockford, Illinois. Dan Sidwell, Visual Instructor: Dan has been on the Chamberlain Staff since the 2005 season. He was previously a staff member for Mr. Herrmann at Eastbay High School during the 2003 and 2004 marching seasons. Dan was a member of the USF Herd of Thunder Marching Band from 2000-2003 and was the tuba section leader in 2003. Dan recently graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelors degree in Public and Cultural Communications and is the General Manader at TexLea Distributors International, Inc. in Wesley Chapel. Sean Phillips, Percussion Director: Sean was on the percussion staff at Chamberlain HS in 1999-2002 and 2006. Sean was also the Percussion Director at Clearwater HS from 2003-2005, during which the drumline won numerous "Best Percussion" awards. While a member of the percussion staff at Chamberlain, the drumline won numerous "Best Percussion" awards, as well as winning the class 2A Best Percussion award at the FMBC State Championships in 2006. Sean has been on staff with the USF Indoor Percussion Theatre and the Kiwanis Kavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. Sean was the very first Drum Captain of the USF "Herd of Thunder" Marching Band, and also marched in the Tampa Bay Thunder and Kiwanis Kavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. Sean is a graduate of the University of South Florida and is currently a TV Production teacher in Pasco County as well as President of DownBeat Video Productions, a professional DVD production company based in Tampa, FL. Kalyn Arias, Percussion Instructor: Kalyn is a recent graduate of Chamberlain HS, where she was a member of the Percussion Ensemble for four years. Kalyn was a member of the 2006 and 2007 State Championship drumlines, and was the Percussion Captain both of those years. Kalyn is a Music Education major at the University of South Florida in Tampa. Jeremy Vest, Percussion Consultant: Jeremy was the Percussion Director/Arranger for the Chamberlain HS Band, Tampa, FL, from 1998-2007. During this time the drumline won numerous 'Best Percussion' awards, including 'Best Percussion' in class 2A at the 2006 AND 2007 FMBC State Finals. Jeremy was also the Percussion Director/Arranger for the Newsome HS Band from Lithia, FL from 2007-2008. During this time the band finished in the top 5 in the state in class 5A at the FMBC State Finals, and the drumline also won numerous 'Best Percussion' trophies. Jeremy has also instructed at Largo HS, Wharton HS, East Bay HS, Land O Lakes HS, Countryside HS, Clearwater HS, Hernando HS and the USF "HOT" Marching Band. Jeremy is currently on the percussion staff for TCI (Timber Creek Independent), a WGI Independent World class Finalist. Jeremy is an active adjudicator for the Florida Federation of Judges Association and the US Scholastic Band Association as well as a member of the Vic Firth Education Team and the Percussive Arts Society. Jeremy lives in Palm Coast and is the Manager of the Circulation Audit Services department at Palm Coast Data, LLC. Stacy Wrenn, Chiefette Color Guard Director: Mrs. Wrenn is currently a Psychology teacher at Chamberlain HS and has been the Chiefette Sponsor since 2003. Erik Nordstrom, Color Guard Designer/Instructor: Erik has been working with the CHS band for a few years and in 2008 was promoted to Color Guard Designer/Director. Erik is a graduate of East Lake HS and has a long performance history in the activity: Paradigm Winterguard (WGI IW Finalist), Teal Sound Drum and Bugle Corps, Boston Crusaders Drum and Bugle Corps, and The Knights World Winterguard (WGI IW Finalist). In addition to Chamberlain, Erik has taught at other high schools and guards including Sickles, Clearwater, Hudson, Santa Fe, as well as History of Urban Form Winterguard. Erik has a Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design from the University of South Florida.

Design Staff Tim Hinton, Wind Arranger: Tim Hinton is an Orlando-based composer and arranger writing for middle school, high school, and college concert and marching bands. He received his Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and his Masters from Georgia State University. During college Tim had the privilege of marching with the Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps of Rockford Illinois for three summers (1980-82). He also taught marching with the corps during the 1983 season, learning many tricks of drill writing and cleaning that still serve him well as a consultant. Tim is especially proud to have won the DCI Individual and Ensemble Competition on french horn in 1982, being the first person in DCI history to receive a perfect score of 100 in individual competition. Tim taught in the public schools for 10 years and developed a highly successful program at Dunwoody High School in Dunwoody, Georgia. He received his Bachelor's degree in Music Education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and his Masters from Georgia State University. Clif Walker, Percussion Arranger: Clif Walker holds a
Masters of Music Education from the University of Central Florida where
he was also adjunct faculty and instructor from 1997 to 1999, and a
B.S.E. from Missouri Western State College. Clif has worked with many
high schools and college programs across the US and Japan, as well as
the Southwind Drum and Bugle Corps as percussion caption head/arranger
from 1999-2002. Gregory Basham, Visual Designer: Gregory Basham is currently the Director of Bands and Orchestras at Newsome HS in Lithia, Florida. Prior to coming to Newsome High School in 2006 Mr. Basham served as the Director of Bands at Halls High School in Knoxville, Tennessee. During his tenure at Halls the band earned numerous accolades in both marching band and concert band. Mr. Basham was a member of the instructional staff for the Magic of Orlando Drum and Bugle Corps from 1993 to 1997. He began as a member of the marching staff in 1993 and completed his time with Magic serving as the Visual Coordinator from 1995-1997. He also serves as a visual designer and consultant for band programs all over the southeastern United States. Mr. Basham earned his Bachelor of Music from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee and is currently working on his masters’ degree in educational leadership at the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. He is a member of the Florida Bandmasters Association, Florida Music Educators Association, Music Educators National Conference, National Band Association and Phi Beta Mu.
